Volunteers 2 Listen

You should know that every volunteer at the Crisis Centre has completed a rigorous training program. This program is one of the most detailed in the country, covering communication and counseling skills to assist people in distress.

Many volunteers are here to listen. Some of their profiles are below. The person profiled may not be the person you speak with.

Our particular focus is on helping youths in distress to cope with their problems, (as well as supporting their family and friends).

Each volunteer has undergone over 78 hours of training, including 24 hours of directly supervised work prior to independent volunteering. And, our volunteers continue to be supervised and supported by an on-site staff of professional counsellors.

Eric

Eric
Hi everyone! This is Eric! I've been volunteering at the Crisis centre for almost a year now and I enjoy speaking to different people and just being a person they can talk through their problems with. I am constantly amazed with how people are able to work through their problems and with the strength they have inside of them, even when they don't know it.Full Profile >>
