Teen Pregnancy

Facts about: Teen Pregnancy

Did you know…

  • A standard pregnancy test can be done if your period is one week late. A test done earlier than this won't be accurate.
  • A standard pregnancy kit can be purchased at most local drug stores over the counter
  • When a woman is pregnant, her body produces a hormone called HCG. Pregnancy tests measure the amount of HCG in a woman’s body.
  • There are 2 kinds of pregnancy tests: urine and blood tests. Urine tests are available from the drug store. Blood tests are more reliable, and can be done by a doctor.
